“Historic Mass Uprising Day holds immense significance in our national life. On this day in 1969, the steadfast unity of students and the masses transformed a prolonged movement into a mass uprising. The fall of autocratic rule opened the doors to democracy and independence. This day serves as a source of inspiration for protecting democracy and the fundamental rights of citizens.
Mass Uprising Day sharpens our spirit of democracy and self-determination and continues to inspire us to stand against all forms of injustice, oppression, and tyranny.
I pay my deepest respects to the memory of the brave martyrs of the mass movement of 1969 and other democratic struggles. I pray for the eternal peace of their souls.
