Today, on October 8, 2025, during a live interview with the electronic media channel DBC, BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council Member Mr. Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu stated, “In the future, Khaleda Zia will be the President and Tarique Rahman will be the Prime Minister.”
This remark by Mr. Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu is entirely his personal opinion. He made this statement without any discussion or consultation with the senior leadership of the BNP. The comment has no connection whatsoever with any official decision of the party.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party - BNP has not made any such decision, and it is imperative that any statement concerning important party matters must be based on collective party consensus and decision.
To prevent any public misunderstanding or confusion, this official statement is being released to the media on behalf of the BNP for public awareness.
