
BNP National Executive Committee member and former MP of Barguna-3 constituency, Alhaj Md. Matiar Rahman Talukder, passed away last night at Evercare Hospital in the capital while undergoing treatment, due to cardiac arrest. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep shock and sorrow at his death.
In a condolence message today, the BNP Secretary General said,
“As a popular BNP leader in his locality, Alhaj Md. Matiar Rahman Talukder was well known. He firmly believed in the principles and ideals of former President and Bir Uttom Shaheed Ziaur Rahman and was deeply committed to the philosophy of Bangladeshi nationalism. His strong role in organizing and strengthening BNP in his area was also commendable. Because he considered public welfare as the purpose of politics, he served the nation and the party with integrity as a former Member of Parliament. I am deeply saddened by the death of such an idealistic politician.”
In his condolence message, the BNP Secretary General prays for the forgiveness of the departed soul of Alhaj Md. Matiar Rahman Talukder and extends heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family members, admirers, and well-wishers.

“Late Alhaj Mahabubar Rahman firmly believed in the principles and ideals of former President and Bir Uttom Shaheed Ziaur Rahman and in the philosophy of Bangladeshi nationalism. He was dedicated to establishing the Jhenaidah District BNP and Kaliganj Upazila BNP as strong, dynamic, and well-organized entities. Under the leadership of our leader Begum Khaleda Zia, he actively participated in democratic movements and struggles. Moreover, he will be forever remembered by the people of the area for his contributions to local development as an elected public representative. I am deeply grieved and saddened by his passing. I pray to the Almighty that He grants Jannah to the late Alhaj Mahabubar Rahman and bestows patience upon his bereaved family.”
