The Honourable Prime Minister of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. Tarique Rahman, arrived at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon, Dhaka, for the first time today, Saturday, at 10:10 a.m. (21 February 2026).

Upon his arrival, Principal Secretary A. B. M. Abdus Sattar and Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman welcomed the Prime Minister at the office.



Before entering the main building of his office, the Prime Minister exchanged greetings with officials and employees who had served during the tenure of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman warmly called several long-serving officials and staff members by name and spoke with them personally.

For a brief moment, many present seemed to forget that they were standing so close to the Prime Minister of the country.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister planted a Swarnachampa sapling within the office premises and offered special prayers in gratitude to Almighty Allah. His Defence Adviser, Brigadier General Dr. A.K.M. Shamsul Islam, PSC, G (Retd.), along with other officials, was present at the time.


Later, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman unveiled a commemorative postage stamp marking Shaheed Day and International Mother Language Day 2026.
