
BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman has said that if BNP comes to power, effective measures will be taken to address river erosion, the most critical problem of Hatiya upazila. He stated that block embankments would be constructed to prevent erosion and enhance the natural beauty of the area.
He made these remarks on Monday (26 January) while virtually addressing an election rally organized by BNP at Hatiya Island Government College ground.
Alleging that a certain group is actively trying to obstruct the election process, Tarique Rahman urged voters to remain vigilant. He advised party supporters to perform Tahajjud prayer, offer Fajr prayer near the polling centers, and carefully ensure that every vote is properly counted.
“I have noted down all your problems,” he said. “If we come to power, sustainable embankments will be constructed and necessary steps will be taken to prevent river erosion. On 12 February, vote for the Sheaf of Paddy symbol. After the election, I will come to visit you, and we will sit together and talk.”
He emphasized that BNP is a people’s party and that if BNP forms the government, the people of the country will be the ultimate holders of power. Addressing women, he said they are proud partners in the country’s development, and BNP would introduce Family Cards, Health Cards, and other facilities to ensure their welfare.
Introducing BNP’s candidate for Noakhali-6 constituency, Md. Mahbuber Rahman Shamim, Tarique Rahman urged voters to support him, assuring that BNP would take responsibility for the area’s development, Insha’Allah.
The rally was presided over by Noakhali District BNP Convener Mahbub Alamgir Alo. Speakers included Noakhali-6 BNP candidate Mahbuber Rahman Shamim, former District Chhatra Dal President Kamruzzaman Hafiz, and leaders from district, upazila, and local units of BNP, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal, and other affiliated organizations.
