Honourable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman participated in the Janaza of former State Minister for Health Mizanur Rahman Sinha.
The Janaza of the former State Minister was held today at around 11:30 am at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building.
This information was confirmed by the Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony.
Mizanur Rahman Sinha was the Managing Director of pharmaceutical company ACME Laboratories Limited and Group.
The Janaza prayer was led by Senior Pesh Imam of the National Parliament Secretariat Abu Raihan.
Others participating in the Janaza included Speaker of the National Parliament retired Major Hafiz Uddin Ahmed (Bir Bikram), Deputy Speaker Barrister Kaiser Kamal, Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, along with other members of the cabinet.
After the Janaza, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman paid tribute to the deceased by placing floral wreaths. Subsequently, the Speaker of the National Parliament, the Local Government Minister, and others also paid their respects to the former State Minister. Following the tribute, prayers and munajat were offered seeking eternal peace for the departed soul.
It is উল্লেখ্য that former State Minister for Health Mizanur Rahman Sinha breathed his last on Friday night while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore. He was 83 years old at the time of his death.
Mizanur Rahman Sinha was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Munshiganj-2 (Louhajang-Tongibari) constituency under the nomination of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party in the 7th National Parliamentary Election in 1996 and the 8th National Parliamentary Election in 2001.
After being elected as a Member of Parliament, Mizanur Rahman Sinha served as State Minister for Health and Family Welfare in the four-party alliance government led by former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. He also served for a long time as Treasurer of the central BNP. In the latest announced committee of Munshiganj District BNP, he was given the responsibility of Convener.
